Description

Issued DE and ETDA Generative AI Governance Guideline for Organisations including Guidelines for the Ethical Application of Generative AI for Organisations

On 30 October 2024, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), through the AI Governance Center (AIGC), jointly issued the generative artificial intelligence (AI) governance guideline for organisations. The guideline is organised into five sections, each designed to guide organisations in the responsible and effective deployment of generative AI. The first section, understanding generative AI, lays the foundation with definitions and terminology for consistent comprehension across the organisation. The second section discusses the benefits and limitations of generative AI, detailing practical applications and notable use cases. The third section, risks of generative AI, provides information on potential risks and strategies for managing them in a way that aligns with organisational goals. The fourth section, guidelines for applying generative AI, introduces application models, including adopter, customizer, and maker, tailored to different levels of organisational complexity. The final section, considerations for applying generative AI with good governance, focuses on maintaining a balance between generative AI utilisation and risk management, emphasising the importance of human oversight, interdisciplinary collaboration, and data governance in ensuring secure and compliant AI use.
