Opened consultation on Cartel and Competition Law Amendment Act 2021

A consultation on the draft of the Federal Act amending the Cartel Act 2005 and the Competition Act is opened by the Austrian Government on 23 April 2021. In particular, the draft enhances the enforcement of competition law, modernizes the control of abuses in the digital platform economy and strengthens the competition authority independence, also through the expansion of powers concerning merger control. The consultation will close on 18 May 2021.
