Issued KKV ruling in investigation into Adlibris' alleged misleading terms and marketing

On 10 October 2024, the Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) issued a ruling following an investigation into Adlibris, an online store, over misleading information and contractual terms. The KKV found that Adlibris engaged in practices that undermined consumer rights, including unilaterally cancelling orders without legal grounds and charging consumers before the formation of a purchase agreement. Adlibris also failed to provide accurate information regarding product availability, shipping times, and delivery dates and imposed unreasonable terms on returns. As a result of the investigation, Adlibris committed to revising its terms and marketing practices to comply with consumer protection laws, ensuring that product availability information is up-to-date and that consumers are not charged before an order agreement is confirmed.
