Launched ASEAN Regional Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)

On 16 October 2024, during the 9th ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity (AMCC), the ASEAN Member States (AMS) announced the operational launch of the ASEAN Regional Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) facility. The CERT, co-located at the ASEAN-Singapore Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (ASCCE), aims at enhancing collective cybersecurity efforts across the region. Funded by Singapore, with a commitment of USD 10'100'000 over 10 years, the CERT will enhance information sharing on cyber threats, attacks, and online scams among AMS. It will also host cyber exercises, workshops, and capacity-building programs. The ASEAN Regional CERT Taskforce, guided by a rotating AMS coordinator, will oversee its efforts.
