China: Opened consultation on MIIT industry standards for AI office large model systems concerning technical requirements

Description

Opened consultation on MIIT industry standards for AI office large model systems concerning technical requirements

On 14 October 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) initiated a consultation on technical requirements for the artificial intelligence office large model system until 13 November 2024. The aforementioned standards were proposed as part of a larger set of 198 industry standards. The objective of these standards is to establish a uniform set of technical specifications for AI-powered office large model systems. The AI standards encompass a range of domains, including large language models and industry-specific applications. The standards set forth technical requirements for the development of large AI models for office systems and for the evaluation of the alignment capabilities of these models. Furthermore, there are standards for enabling collaboration between edge-cloud devices, ensuring efficient data processing, and standards for AI-driven smart control systems in industries such as steel production. Further standards address the integration of AI systems across multiple sectors, including those pertaining to embodied intelligence, customer service systems, and cross-domain data computing. Additionally, ethical guidelines and hardware adaptation requirements are emphasised to ensure the responsible and efficient deployment of AI technologies across industries.
