On 15 October 2024, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore released the Safe App Standard 2.0, which applies to application developers and owners of mobile applications, particularly those handling high-risk transactions such as modifications to financial functions. The standard imposes obligations encouraging developers to implement security controls across eight cybersecurity areas, including authentication, authorisation, data storage, anti-tampering and anti-reversing, network communication, cryptography, code quality and platform interactions. It was also highlighted that by adhering to SAS 2.0, developers can bolster application security against malware and phishing attacks.
