Description

Adopted NTC order blocking 26 websites linked to communist terrorist groups

On 6 June 2022, the National Telecommunications Commission adopted an order blocking 26 websites allegedly linked to communist terrorist groups. The order requires internet service providers in the Philippines to block access to 26 websites associated with communist terrorist groups (CTGs), including the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, Communist Party of the Philippines, Bulatlat, Hiyaw, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, and Rural Missionaries of the Philippines. The order imposes obligations on ISPs to restrict access to these sites, which allegedly contain propaganda that undermines the Philippine government and facilitates recruitment and funding for CTGs.
