Philippines: Introduced amendment to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (SB No. 1367)

On 5 October 2022, an amendment to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (SB No. 1367) was introduced in the Philippine Senate. The amendment introduces exceptions, such as information necessary to comply with financial laws, and during a national health emergency or pandemic, where personal information may be processed to address the health crisis, subject to guidelines issued by the Department of Health.
