Announced adoption of Ofcom best practice principles for media literacy by Google Search, the LEGO Group, Pinterest and Roblox

On 7 October 2024, the Office of Communications announced that Google Search, the LEGO Group, Pinterest and Roblox have voluntarily adopted the Ofcom best practice principles for media literacy by design. The principles require companies to prioritise media literacy on their platforms, increase transparency, develop user-centric designs, and continuously monitor and evaluate their media literacy activities. The companies have submitted examples of their current efforts and future focus areas, which will serve as benchmarks for review.
