Introduced Stop Social Media Censorship Act

The Stop Social Media Censorship Act is introduced in the South Carolina House of Representatives (Bill 4528). The Act provides the right of action to social media users when a social media platform deletes, censors or disfavours through algorithmic means one user's religious or speech or political speech. Additionally, the Secretary of State is allowed to fine the social media websites engaging in de-platforming or shadowbanning a political candidate and ask the disclosure of social media algorithmic bias towards certain political candidates.
