On 5 October 2024, the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) directed TikTok Pte Ltd to issue correction notices to all Singaporean end-users who accessed a post containing false statements about the legal processes for prisoners awaiting capital punishment and the prosecution of drug trafficking charges. This action follows an investigation into publications, including on social media, by the Transformative Justice Collective and individual Kokila Annamalai, which were found to contain inaccuracies regarding the state's handling of executions and the legal burden of proof in drug trafficking cases. The government's directive also requires certain users to make posts correcting their previous statements. The correction notices are issued under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act.
