Adopted ACSC Principles of operational technology cyber security

On 2 October 2024, the Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD's ACSC) adopted the Principles of operational technology cyber security, providing guidance aimed at bolstering the cyber security of critical infrastructure's operational technology (OT) systems and online supply chains. This initiative, developed in consultation with industry and endorsed by international intelligence partners, introduces a set of principles aimed to assist leaders, developers, and stakeholders in comprehensively understanding and mitigating cyber security risks within OT environments. Specifically, the document sets out six principles, which include safety, knowledge of business, protection of OT data, segmenting OT, supply chain security, and the role of people in ensuring OT security.
