Opened CCPC investigation into suspected anti-competitive conduct of Clanwilliam

On 27 September 2024, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) announced the opening of an investigation into suspected breaches of competition law by Clanwilliam, a healthcare software company. The focus of the investigation is the provision of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) software and related services, including electronic referrals and text messaging services. These tools are used by healthcare professionals to manage patient information and healthcare services efficiently. The CCPC has called for anyone with relevant information to come forward and contribute to the investigation on a confidential basis via email. Additionally, a survey among General Practitioners (GPs) will be conducted as part of the investigation.
