As of 1 March 2020 the Turkish digital service tax takes effect. Subjected services to the tax are digital advertising, sale of audio, visual or digital content through a digital platform and digital marketplace services. The tax rate is set at 7.5% and may be changed to a minimum of 1% and a maximum of 15% at the discretion of the president. For a company to be subject to the tax it has to exceed the following thresholds in revenue with the subjected services. Global annual revenue of € 750'000'000 and local annual revenue of TRY 20'000'000.
