On 4 August 2023, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) adopted the order on forms for prior notification of the operation of digital platform service businesses that are subject to prior notification (no. 2/2566). The order establishes the specific forms and procedures required for notifying the operation of digital platform businesses in Thailand and defines the process for submitting information to the ETDA through the Business Notification System. It distinguishes between two types of operators: those who are required to provide prior notification under Section 8 Paragraph One, and those who only need to provide brief details under Section 8 Paragraph Four due to their exemption or different characteristics. The notification prescribes that all relevant information and supporting documents, as specified in the Royal Decree on the Operation of Digital Platform Service Businesses, B.E. 2565 (2022), must be submitted through the designated electronic system or directly to the ETDA’s office. The Director of the ETDA or a competent official will oversee the execution of these procedures, ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements for digital platform businesses operating in Thailand. The order will enter into force on 21 August 2023.
