Description

Closed consultation on Guidance on Manipulative, Deceptive and Exploitative AI systems

On 17 November 2024, the Dutch Data Protection Authority closes the consultation as part of a first call for input on the EU AI Act's prohibitions of certain AI systems with a view to formulating Guidance on Manipulative, Deceptive and Exploitative AI systems. Art.5 of the AI Act prohibits certain AI systems posing an unacceptable risk level, a provision which enters into force on 2 February 2025. The DPA is responsible for setting out criteria for the application of these prohibitions, beginning with the first two types of prohibited systems, namely manipulative and deceptive systems, and exploitative systems. The DPA thus provides definitions of different elements and criteria for these prohibitions and asks stakeholders for input regarding them.
