Vietnam: Implemented Decree No. 71/2022/ND-CP on management, provision and use of radio and television services

On 1 January 2023, Decree No. 71, which requires over-the-top (OTT) and video-on-demand (VOD) service providers to register and obtain a license to provide their services, entered into force. The providers are required to set up a local entity or form a joint venture and comply with Vietnamese laws, including editing, translation, and classification into news, films, and entertainment, with specific conditions for each category.
