Malaysia: Announced Malaysia Artificial Intelligence Nexus 2024

On 10 May 2024, the Prime Minister of Malaysia announced the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Nexus 2024. This initiative applies to the AI industry, universities, and government agencies, aiming to drive AI development and collaboration across sectors. Key components of the initiative include the establishment of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the introduction of the AI Talent Roadmap for Malaysia (2024-2030), and the formation of the Malaysia Artificial Intelligence Consortium (MAIC). The efforts are designed to enhance AI education and foster partnerships with industry.
