Announced Amendment of Communications and Multimedia Commission Act
On 27 August 2023, the Malaysian Cabinet agreed to amend the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998 (Act 589). These amendments, proposed by the Communication and Multimedia Ministry, are to enhance legal provisions to combat cyber threats such as online fraud and hacking.
