Issued AI Playbook for Small States

On 22 September 2024, the Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) issued the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Playbook for Small States. The Playbook was developed by IMDA in collaboration with Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation, with contributions from members of the Digital Forum for Small States (Digital FOSS). The Playbook is a compilation of best practices shared by small states on AI adoption, governance, and societal impacts. In addition, it addresses the common challenges small states face, such as limited resources, access to data, and AI talent, while focusing on building key AI infrastructure and human resources. Furthermore, the Playbook emphasises the importance of fostering a trusted AI environment, encouraging global partnerships, and leveraging AI for sustainable development.
