Introduced Artificial Intelligence Development and Regulation Act of the Philippines (HB7396) including cybersecurity regulation

On 1 March 2023, the Artificial Intelligence Development and Regulation Act of the Philippines (HB7396) was introduced into the Philippine House of Representatives including cybersecurity regulation. The Act aims at safely developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Philippines while ensuring alignment with ethical principles, human rights and public interest. The Act would task the AI Development Authority (AIDA) with developing guidelines and regulations, specifically with protecting AI systems against cyber-attacks and hacking by developing data security and cybersecurity standards. The Act would enter into force fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
