Vietnam: Opened consultation on National Standards on Cybersecurity for Critical Information Systems

On 8 June 2024, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) initiated a public consultation on the draft National Standards on Cybersecurity for Critical Information Systems until 6 October 2024. The standard is applicable to critical information systems that impact national security, including systems related to the military, diplomatic, financial, and energy sectors. The framework outlines obligatory cybersecurity requirements with the objective of identifying and managing IT risks in these various sectors. Key areas of focus include cybersecurity risk management processes, secure configuration management, user account and access management, malware prevention, and incident management, among others.
