Announced Competition Market Study on the Digital Sector in Poland, Latvia and Lithuania

On 17 September 2024, the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) announced the Competition Market Study on the Digital Sector in Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania. In particular, the Market Study is a project funded by the European Union (EU) to assess competitive challenges in the digital markets of these countries, particularly focusing on online marketplaces. To be carried out by UOKiK, the competition authorities of Lithuania and Latvia, and the OECD, the study will analyse market competition and identify regulatory gaps. If issues are found, the OECD will provide recommendations within the national and European legislative contexts, including in case that regulatory gaps are identified. The project will last 21 months.
