Issued regulation No.80/2019 containing licensing requirement for e-commerce providers

Government Regulation No. 80 of 2019 on Trading through Electronic System (GR80) is issued by the Indonesian government. The Regulation introduces various measures concerning contracts, payments, product delivery and businesses' obligations in transactions operated through electronic systems. Particularly, the Regulation introduces a licensing requirement for e-commerce service providers. Electronic intermediaries that do not directly benefit from the transaction or are not directly involved in the contractual relationship are exempted from obtaining a business license.
