Announced Guidance on Interplay between DMA and GDPR

On 10 September 2024, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) announced that it was collaborating with the European Commission on the development of Guidance on the interplay between the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Guidance focuses on obligations for gatekeepers which have strong interplay with GDPR obligations, with the aim of establishing a coherent interpretation of obligations which implement the aims of both regulatory frameworks in a complementary way.
