On 9 September 2024, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the Financial Affairs Bureau of the Macao signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Promoting Cross-Border Data Flows in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The memorandum aims to promote the secure cross-border flow of information between the Mainland and Macao and to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
