Issued Ruling in DPC lawsuit against Supermac's Ireland Limited for allegedly sending unsolicited marketing emails

On 3 September 2024, the Court of Galway issued a ruling in a case involving Supermac’s Ireland Limited regarding unsolicited marketing emails. Supermac's Ireland Limited pled guilty to sending unsolicited marketing emails to five charges of sending unsolicited marketing emails. This ruling followed a warning issued by the Data Protection Commission (DPC) in February 2023 after investigating complaints against the company. Instead of a conviction, Supermac's Ireland Limited was directed to donate EUR 3'500, to be equally divided between the Galway Simon Community and Cope Galway.
