Mexico: Adopted Guidelines for Certification Scheme of Persons in the Protection of Personal Data

On 6 September 2024, the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI) issued the Guidelines for Certification Scheme of Persons in the Protection of Personal Data. Personal data protection certification is a process intended to recognise demonstrated compliance with data protection obligations. The Guidelines outline the conditions, policies, methods, rules, requirements, criteria, manuals, and procedures necessary for the operation of the certification process.
