Issued ETDA Guidance to Report under DPS Act

On 8 August 2023, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) issued guidance reminding small digital platforms and platforms with low impact to report business information under the Digital Platform Services Act (DPS Act) before 20 August 2024. The DPS Act mandates all digital platform service providers, including messaging, online advertising, e-commerce, and other platform intermediaries, as well as search and streaming service providers, to register their business operations with the ETDA. According to the regulating body, the requirement aims to verify the identity of digital platform service businesses, detailing their services, location, and measures for user compensation and complaints, thereby enhancing service transparency and user confidence.
