Adopted Vietnam-Japan Memorandum of Understanding in information and communications sector including digital infrastructure and AI

On 6 August 2024, the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in the information and communications sectors. The Memorandum focuses on developing digital infrastructure, promoting Artificial Intelligence, implementing 5G networks with OpenRAN standards, ensuring cybersecurity, combating misinformation, and enhancing digital skills. The Memorandum aims to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the World, which aims to enhance cooperation in digital economy development and innovation to drive rapid and sustainable economic growth in Vietnam and Japan.
