On 15 September 2024, the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority’s Resolution on the certification procedure of bodies for the out-of-court dispute resolution between online platform providers and recipients under the Digital Services Act (Resolution 282/24/CONS) enters into force. The Regulation applies to out-of-court dispute resolution bodies handling disputes between service recipients and online platform providers, requiring them to demonstrate impartiality, independence, and expertise and to provide accessible, efficient, and transparent dispute resolution. The Regulation also establishes the procedure for certifying these bodies, including requirements for impartiality and reporting obligations.
