Adopted BayLDA Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection

On 24 January 2024, the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA) adopted guidelines on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data protection, expanding its information offering to address the application of the General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements in the context of AI technologies. The guidelines apply to companies and institutions using AI systems and provide information regarding technical and legal perspectives on AI, the roles and responsibilities in data protection, and answer questions related to personal data processing, technical data protection, data protection impact assessments, information obligations, and the rights of data subjects.
