Russia: Issued Tagansky District Court ruling in investigation against Twitch for non-compliance with Roskomnadzor's monitoring and removal Order

On 5 August 2024, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow issued a ruling, imposing a fine of RUB 5 million against Twitch for non-compliance with the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor)'s monitoring and removal order. The Court concluded that Twitch, a live-streaming company, failed to comply with an order from Roskomnadzor. The order required monitoring to identify and remove information similar to previous content flagged or removed based on Roskomnadzor's order, specifically about the "special military operation” conducted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The ruling requires Twitch to pay the fine within 60 days from the date of the ruling.
