The paper applies to both the public sector and the broader economy, focusing on the increasing use of AI across various sectors in New Zealand. The paper highlights that New Zealand faces several challenges in securing the potential of AI, including a general mistrust of AI, low uptake in the economy, and limited adoption in public services, hindering innovation, productivity, and potential gains.
