On 31 July 2024, the US-Singapore Digital Economic Cooperation Roadmap for advancing digital economic cooperation was adopted. The Roadmap aims to enhance cooperation in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity and outlines several areas of cooperation, including the development of governance frameworks for AI, collaboration on post-quantum cryptography, and support for the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules Forum. The Roadmap also includes initiatives to enhance cybersecurity through reciprocal certification standards, improve online consumer protection, limit unsolicited commercial electronic messages, and foster digital connectivity through secure infrastructure investments. The Roadmap also promotes trade facilitation for micro, small, and medium enterprises, and encourages paperless trading and electronic invoicing. The Roadmap aims to strengthen existing cooperation between the countries, such as through the US-Singapore Critical and Emerging Technology (CET) Dialogue.
