On 2 February 2021, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) released the Thai government's AI Governance Guidelines, which provide a comprehensive framework for the responsible implementation and management of AI technologies across various sectors. In particular, the guidelines include the establishment of an AI Governance Council to set strategic directions and policies, as well as to monitor and evaluate AI applications. Moreover, the guidelines emphasise the responsible use of AI, adherence to ethical principles, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. They focus on risk management, continuous capacity building for personnel, and the integration of AI in alignment with organisational goals and broader societal benefits. Furthermore, the guidelines outline detailed strategies for AI governance, including infrastructure development, fostering innovation, enhancing human resources, and promoting AI adoption in both public and private sectors to drive economic and technological growth responsibly.
