Introduced Law on Independence and Freedom of Delivery Workers on Technology Platforms (Bill 3441-D-2024)

On 1 July 2024, the Law for the Independence and Freedom of Delivery Workers on Technology Platforms (Bill 3441-D-2024) was introduced at the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. The Law applies to technology platforms as well as independent delivery workers and mandates that platforms provide necessary information for delivery decisions, respect workers' freedom of connection to any platform, offer safety and service-related information, ensure complaint reporting mechanisms, and supply road safety equipment and training. The Law also provides that delivery workers are required to register with tax authorities, maintain a bank account or electronic wallet, follow traffic regulations, and comply with platform terms and conditions.
