Argentina: Introduced Bill establishing the Federal Observatory on Artificial Intelligence (Bill No. 3900-D-2024)

On 24 July 2024, the Bill establishing the Federal Observatory on Artificial Intelligence was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. The Observatory would be tasked with overseeing and guiding Artificial Intelligence (AI) development and usage. The Observatory would also analyse AI algorithms, promote data protection, and evaluate existing regulations. The Observatory would further collaborate with existing public and private entities, create a website for information dissemination, report on the social and ethical impacts of AI, and propose regulatory reforms.
