On 23 August 2024, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) closes a public consultation on the final report of the Digital Platform Services Inquiry. As part of the Digital Platform Services Inquiry, ACCC has previously published reports on competition and consumer issues in digital platforms. The consultation focuses on international legislative and regulatory developments, major market trends, and emerging competition and consumer issues relating to digital platform services. The consultation sought inputs from consumers, business owners and other stakeholders on the impact of recent international regulatory developments on competition and consumers in digital platform services, major developments or key trends in online private messaging and app marketplaces and similar markets since the ACCC's previous reports, and emerging competition and consumer issues in online gaming, cloud computing, and generative Artificial Intelligence in Australia.
