European Union: Issued European Commission approval for Kiwa Deutschland GmbH and adesso SE merger

On 23 July 2024, the European Commission approved the merger between Kiwa Deutschland GmbH and adesso SE, whereby the companies will acquire joint control over Kevla GmbH through a new joint venture. The Commission noted that Kevla GmbH will initially engage in automating compliance document exchanges between companies in Germany. The Commission noted that the merger does not pose any competition concerns due to the joint venture's minimal activities in the European Economic Area and the lack of overlap between the company's markets.
