On 24 July 2024, the European Union's Network and Information Systems Cooperation Group published the first report on the cybersecurity and resilience of Europe’s telecommunications and electricity sectors. The report highlights concerns about supply chain security, lack of cyber professionals, and threats from cybercriminals and state-sponsored actors. The report identifies key risks, including ransomware, data wipers, attacks originating from large bot networks, exploitation of zero-day vulnerabilities and malicious insiders.
