Repealed Anti-Fake News Act 2018 (Act 803)

On 9 October 2019, the Anti-Fake News Act 2018 (Act 803) was repealed. The Parliament stated that due to changes in the policy of the Government, fake news will be covered under other, already existing laws, such as the Penal Code (Act 574), the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 (Act 301) and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588). Due to this, the Anti-Fake News Act 2018 is no longer necessary.
