Published EDPB guidelines regarding the EU-US Data Privacy Framework addressed to businesses

On 16 July 2024, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published guidelines pertaining to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) addressed to businesses. The guidelines cover various aspects of the DPF, including its purpose and principles and eligibility criteria for US companies to participate in the DPF. Furthermore, the guidelines outline the steps to be taken by data exporters from the European Economic Area before transferring personal data to US companies claiming DPF certification and guidance on how US subsidiary companies of European businesses can obtain certification.
