On 30 May 2016, under the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015, the Governor-General in Council, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, adopted the Harmful Digital Communications (Appointment of Approved Agency) Order 2016. This order, effective from 30 June 2016, officially appoints NetSafe Incorporated as the Approved Agency for a term of five years. NetSafe Incorporated's role as the Approved Agency encompasses responsibilities under the content moderation regulation, aiming to address harmful digital communications across various sectors.
