Adopted Harmful Digital Communications (Appointment of Approved Agency) Order 2021 designating NetSafe Incorporated as approved agency

On 24 May 2021, the Harmful Digital Communications (Appointment of Approved Agency) Order 2021 was adopted. The order effective from 30 June 2021, designates NetSafe Incorporated as the Approved Agency for a term of five years, in accordance with section 7 of the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015. The appointment empowers NetSafe Incorporated to oversee the regulation of content moderation, aiming to address harmful digital communications across various sectors. This initiative is administered by the Ministry of Justice and was established under the advice and consent of the Executive Council, following a recommendation from the Minister of Justice.
