On 4 July 2024, the Competition Authority concluded its investigation into allegations against Google for potentially abusing its dominant position in the general search services market. The investigation focused on whether Google's search result features, such as "videos", "users also asked this", "translation box", “sports box”, and "weather box", were used to unfairly lower the visibility of other websites, thereby harming competition. Following an oral defence meeting at the Competition Authority headquarters on 25 June 2024, the Competition Authority, with its decision numbered 24-28/682-283 dated 4 July 2024, found that Google holds a dominant position in the market but did not abuse this position through the features offered on its search results pages. Consequently, the Competition Authority decided not to impose any administrative fine on Google.
