On 10 June 2024, Bill 3003-D-2024, establishing a legal framework for the regulation of the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. The Bill would establish a legal framework for the responsible use of AI in Argentina, safeguarding citizens' rights and promoting ethical and transparent AI applications. It draws on similar regulatory efforts in the EU, US, UK, OECD, UNESCO, and Latin American countries such as Peru, Mexico, and Chile. The Bill applies to individuals and entities involved in providing, deploying, importing, distributing, manufacturing, and using AI systems within Argentina. In particular, the governing principles of the Bill include transparency, robustness, fairness, proactive responsibility, traceability, privacy and security, reliability, and international collaboration.
