Mexico: Introduced Draft bill amending Article 146 of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law

On 26 June 2024, the draft Bill amending Article 146 of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law was introduced into the Mexican Parliament. The Bill aims to enhance net neutrality by mandating the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) to develop a user-reporting tool for net neutrality violations by concessionaires and authorised parties. Additionally, the IFT would be required to produce an annual report on net neutrality, incorporating principles from Article 145 and previously issued guidelines. This report would be made available on the IFT's official website to enable public access to information on net neutrality compliance.
