China: Closed consultation for MIIT Establishment of the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Standardization Technical Committee

On 30 July 2024, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) closed the consultation for the establishment plan of the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Standardization Technical Committee. The order aims to promote and implement various standards as well as industrialise BCIs. The order would task the Technical Committee with the development of various standards related to BCI, namely common standards for BCI, key standards for input and output interfaces as well as key standards for BCI data. Further, the Technical Committee would develop technical standards and standards concerning ethics and safety.
