Description

Opened consultation on Digital Technology Industry Law including data protection regulation

On 2 July 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) opened a public consultation on the Digital Technology Industry Law until 2 September 2024. The law differentiates between digital data input and output. Input digital data is collected, processed, and used directly to support the production activities and provision of digital technology services. Output digital data is generated during the activities of the digital technology industry. Input digital data must be non-personal data or data that has undergone de-personalisation as per Article 25 or personal data compliant with personal data regulations. De-personalisation of digital data involves applying methods, procedures, and technical tools to remove personal information and data for use in the digital technology industry. The MIC will establish and issue procedures, standards, regulations, and certifications.
